Dr. Sharon Chou is a third-year fellow in adult endocrinology. She received her medical degree from University of Illinois at Rockford and completed her internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, MA. She is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine.
Dr. Chou’s research interests are in osteoporosis and other metabolic bone disorders. In particular, she is evaluating models that predict the presence of vertebral fractures, which are the most common osteoporotic fracture, as well as assessing for racial differences. She is also investigating causes of hypercalciuria in postmenopausal women with low bone mass and has received the 2013 Clinical Research Fellowship Award from The Endocrine Society to pursue this.
