About the Study

The T1GER Clinical Research Study is for children and young adults newly diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. The purpose of the T1GER clinical research study is to determine the safety and effectiveness of an investigational medication and to find out if it can maintain beta cell function in the pancreas of children and young adults newly diagnosed with type 1 diabetes.

Eligibility Criteria

Your child may be eligible to participate in this study if he or she:

  • Is between the ages of 6 and 21 years
    Has been diagnosed with type 1 diabetes within 100 days before they are expected to start taking the investigational medication
  • Additional criteria will apply. The study physician will tell you about other eligibility requirements.
