We have a long and extensive history in caring for children with diabetes.
Comer Children’s Hospital, a state-of-the-art children’s hospital, and the University of Chicago Kovler Diabetes Center have teamed up to create one of the few structured pediatric diabetes programs in the United States, including one of the largest pediatric endocrine fellowship programs, allowing children and families to receive all their diabetes care in one center. Our enhanced diabetes program for children, Kovler for Kids, is designed for children ages 0-12 and their families and provides diabetes care, education and support.
Our full-circle approach includes a team of pediatric endocrinologists, psychologists, therapists and certified diabetes educators who work with parents, siblings and families to help them understand a child’s needs while encouraging patients to live a full and happy life and effectively manage their diabetes.
