Kovler is thrilled to announce that Tiffany Grant, RN, FNP has joined the University of Chicago Kovler Diabetes Center's team as Associate Director of Clinical Research.

Grant, a Nurse Practitioner, has gained experience over the last ten years at Rush Medical Center, Walgreens Take Care Clinics and at Radiant Research in Chicago, where she worked as a Co-Investigator on several clinical trials related to diabetes and other conditions. Grant managed study conduct, product development and centralized patient recruitment services to support the biopharmaceutical, medical device and consumer product industries.
Graeme Bell, PhD, the Louis Block Distinguished Service Professor of Medicine and Human Genetics and head of the University's NIH- supported Diabetes Research and Training Center recently was awarded the Manpei Suzuki International Prize for 2012 for his pioneering work in understanding the role of genetics in the diagnosis and treatment of diabetes.

 
On April 27th, the University of Chicago Kovler Diabetes Center hosted our 7th annual Living Well with Diabetes event! Our speakers this year included Dr. Rochelle Naylor, Registered Dietician and Certified Diabetes Educator Amy Hess Fischl, Chef Jennifer Bucko Lamplough, and award-winning actress from the View, Sherri Shepherd.

Michael Alter, President and CEO of SurePayroll and current President of The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) Illinois Chapter is a leader for all living with diabetes and an incredible fundraiser for Type 1 Diabetes research.

Living with diabetes since the age of 23, Alter receives care from Dr. Lou Philipson at the Kovler Diabetes Center. Alter appreciates Dr. Philipson's progressive style of care.
