Improving Diabetes Care and Outcomes on the South Side of Chicago
Merck Company Foundation, Kovler Diabetes Center and the University of Chicago have united to improve access and quality of care for diabetes patients.
A five-year initiative, “Improving Diabetes Care and Outcomes on the South Side of Chicago,” is one of five programs selected to be part of Merck’s new Alliance to Reduce Disparities in Diabetes. Through it, Kovler physicians work collaboratively with four community health centers.
“The health centers have shown great dedication and are focusing on innovative ways to improve the care their patients with diabetes receive,” said Dr. Monica Peek, co-principal investigator on this project.
