
Plamen Penev, MD, PhD, is Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of Chicago. His research focuses on the relationship between sleep and physical activity, energy metabolism, hormonal changes, glucose tolerance and insulin resistance.
Dr. Penev has published in numerous books and medical journals. He serves on the editorial board for the journal Sleep and as a reviewer for 14 medical journals. Dr. Penev also has been a panelist for sessions of the National Institutes of Health, the International Life Sciences Institute, the Endocrine Society and the Association of the Professional Sleep Societies.
