Alexandra Psihogios, M.A., is currently pursuing her Ph.D. in clinical psychology at the Loyola University Chicago. Prior to joining the University of Chicago, Alexandra conducted evidenced-based, individual psychotherapy with children with autism spectrum disorders and students in a college counseling center. Additionally, she has extensive experience in conducting pediatric neuropsychological assessments.
Alexandra’s clinical and research interests include adherence to medical regimens and the transfer of medical responsibilities from parent to child. Alex now works on Dr. Tina Drossos’ team providing consultation/liaison services in the Comer Children’s Hospital, psychotherapy in the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry outpatient clinic, as well as consultation and short-term psychotherapy in the Kovler Diabetes Center. Her clinical interests include working with children and families manage disease regimen and cope with stressors associated with chronic health conditions.
Alex joined the University of Chicago as an extern in July 2013. She has worked with the Child and Adolescent Consultation/Liaison service conducting assessments and providing psychotherapy services for patients hospitalized in the Comer Children’s Hospital. Additionally, Maria works in the outpatient child psychology program providing psychotherapy services to patients presenting with coping and adjustment concerns, and mood, anxiety and behavior disorders.
